Influenza Virus Arrives in Grant County Several healthcare facilities in the county are seeing patients with flu-like illnesses. It is not known if any are in the immediate area. In less than two weeks, the Grant County Health District (GCHD) received 13 reports of positive influenza lab tests. County officials said this is the start of the 2011-2012 flu season in the area, with neighboring counties also seeing higher number of flu cases. "While 13 positive flu tests may not seem like many, healthcare providers are not required to report all positive flu test results," Said Shawta Sackett RN, MPH, Community Public Health Manager and Epidemiologist. So far, no severe cases have been reported in Grant County, but there was a flu related death in Washington State this year. Once the influenza season starts it often lasts to May, and sometimes beyond. This year everyone is being encouraged to get a Warrior Burger Meal! $8.99 GOOD LUCK TO OUR I00rARRIOR IKRES'N.ERS AT STATE! HOURS: 5 am to 9:30 pm Sundays 6 am to 9:30 flu shot.
